Spider-Man Web of Shadows

Strange events begin to occur in New York City and Spider-Man is the first to notice. What was initally thought to be an infection is revelaed to be an invasion.

Venom has learned that he can clone himself using the symbiont suit he wears. These clones form hives or pods in many parts of the city. From these hives, they launch an invasion against the citizens of the city. Soon, virtually the entire population of Manhattan succumbs to the symbiosis, mutated into zombies, other super-villains, and Venom himself. S.H.I.E.L.D. intervenes and quarantines Manhattan, sealing off the island to keep the invasion from spreading to the mainland.

Before long, Spider-Man becomes infected after confronting Venom, and regains his old symbiotic costume. He teams up with the city's heroes and villains who are fighting the invasion. Spider-Man must stop Venom before he falls under the control of the symbiotic suit. The ultimate fate of Spider-Man, and the city itself, depends on the player's actions through the course of the game.
