"95 years ago today, White residents & local law enforcement/government worked together to destroy the Black people of Greenwood, OK. On May 31, 1921, they descended on the affluent area inhabited by many successful Black families with the intent to extinguish them. Homes and businesses were destroyed. Hundreds injured and killed. Why? White people were angry that Black people dared to win at life. We don't often hear of the Tulsa Riots of 1921 because the existence of "Black Wall Street" smacks the face of White Supremacy."
