Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 review

First and foremost I am a Dragon Ball fan. I adore Akira Toriyama works and with this game is indeed a work of art. Now on to the review:
I know it has been awhile since I gave a game review but when I got untangled in this game I HAD to just give one out. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is the second addition to the Dragon Ball next generation style game with 60 fsp (frames per second) and anime graphics. The custom character creation will leave you in awe for about 40mins to an 1hr trying to get  every ounce of creativity you've ever wanted in a DBZ (Dragon Ball Z) character from the hit anime. The character class are: "Buu, Human, Sayians, Namekian, and Freeza's Race." Each one has different different qualities the other doesn't which means you are going to create sooooo many characters. The character I am on right now is Namekian (as seen above).

Also with the summer hit "Dragon Ball Super" going on has fans shouting for more due to the addition of character from the new show. At best everyone is going crazy for "Black" Goku:

Alright, let's get into the game shall we? Once your character is created you will proceed to the free roaming hub of the game called "Conton City."

This where you will get added skills, clothes, and supplies. As well as Story Missions, Parallel Missions, Online Tournaments, upcoming Raids and "needed" training. Training is extremely important if you have "never" played a DBZ game or at the LEAST played the first Xenoverse.

The Training is in two different avenues: 1) you can find a DBZ character and ask them to train you and even ask if they could be your Master (Sensei) and each Master has trails and then rating to gauge your progress. 2) you can just leave it all to the wind and hit up the Story mode and upgrade in power points and receive special skills and other items as rewards.

The art in this game is superb. The cell-shaded next gen look is simply amazing, and mixed with the high-octane action it a great mixture of portrait in time and that of a heart pounding action. You will face off with multiple enemies in the Story, some even at the same time. When you think
you have the hang of it you can fight against other players, or even team up with others in completing Parallel Missions.

This game is so much more than just rubber-stamp added DLC title like some other Next-gen games. They took time in this game in updating the fighting system, adding more options in the custom creator as well giving you the ability to fly around Conton city (when you obtain a flying license).

But at the end of the day everyone has different likes and I will tell you that this game is NOT for everyone. It can be a unforgiving Japanese import game, especially in learning different combos and actually executing them for dear life. All I have to say is it's an exquisite game and I'll be playing it through the rest of this year to the next. If you think this game is intriguing  try renting it let the game-play do the talking instead of the words I am writing.

 This H.X. signing off...
